For these gifs I used the same techniques I used back in the day creating little 100x100 pixel icons for Livejournal - namely, throwing colors and gradients over the image and fiddling with the settings until it looked nice and weird, then putting some grungy textures and lights over it to pull the whole thing together. I feel like this technique worked a bit better in the second gif than the first, and overall it was a good learning experience about combining my old school style with the more modern aesthetic. I do really love the way the second one turned out!
